"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

They fire shot into a bank clerk and make a getaway. Their car smashes into another car. One of the bank robbers is killer, as well as the driver of the other car and his five year old child. The other robber pulls a gun at the scene of the wreck and shoots again and makes his escape. Pearson and Rhodes investigate. A witness, Mr. Raber, says that the escaped man had a head cut needing stitching and a couple of gold teeth in the front. Later, the bank teller dies in the hospital, reviving only momentarily to say that the man who shot him had gold teeth. Pearson focuses on trying to find the identity of the escaped killer. His blood type is AB. A thumb print on the car's gas cap belongs to a man named Robert Trummer. Pearson locates Trummer the day after the robbery. Trummer has gold teeth, but no cut on his head. Trummer's blood type turns out to be O. Trummer, who works in a service station, says that he sold the gas cap to a man yesterday, but the man paid him with a hunting knife and sheath. Trummer gets the knife for Pearson. There is an image burned into the sheath of what appears to be of a Buffalo Mesa. Trummer says he can't say whether the man had gold teeth because he had a chaw of tobacco in his mouth. They go there and find a physician who stitched a head wound for a cowpoke named Joe Foy. The man has AB type blood - but the physician says that Foy doesn't have gold teeth. At the ranch where Foy works Pearson checks Foy's belongings and finds chewing tobacco - wrapped in gold foil. Pearson sees Foy approaching, but then Foy takes off when he sees the Ranger. Pearson pursues on his horse Charcoal, but he is wounded by a shot from Foy. Pearson continues to pursue Foy, and shoots him dead.

The Shadow is my favorite along with the Whistler. Both on are occasionally. If you'd like to suggest a show you can email Ed here.

I'm sure you can find the mp3 of whatever show you want for free on the web.
