I think the only reason Colin Powell is nominally a Republican, is because Democrats truly hate military people. He agrees with everything Democrats think and want, except for that part.

We are very fortunate that Powell lacks the fire in the belly for the vice presidency or presidency. If he would have been elected he would have been a disaster.

In addition to lacking the fire in the belly, he also lacks gray matter in the head. Where was he when outrageous lies were being spread about Bush? Questions of Obama's citizenship status are least reasonable, and, if untrue, would be simple to dismiss.
