What they have accomplished as a late arrival to that industry is actually remarkable. They were probably 500th to market, but actually took over massive market share.

GoDaddy has been running widely distributed coupon campaigns of $0.99 and $1.77 for a yearly domain name registration in the last few months.

I hope whoever buys them doesn't screw it up. They were one of the early companies pushing reasonable prices for domain registration (especially compared to Network Solutions' prices). I have a few domains registered through them and I would hate to have to move them.
