My family is devoutly Catholic, and I've been on my knees plenty since this happened. It's the baby's parent's families that aren't really religious. I'm also worried that the poor mother might try to harm herself due to her despair.

I am happy to pray for your family!
I know that there have been times when I was so low that I simply couldn’t pray for myself or my family. I had no words. (Muttering, “Oh G-d, oh G-d” over and over again just didn’t seem to do it for me.) In those times I turned to others to help me make that connection. Every time those prayers strengthened me and helped me find my way.
Yes, I’ll join in the prayers for your family.
