“Generic doxycycline is ineffective against acne”

I have not heard of antibiotics being used for acne, but my last acne was about 50 years ago, haha.
I will have to ask my brother...oh, he is a dermatologist.:)

I have taken antibiotics a number of times in my life, but this was my first experience with doxycycline.

I’ve taken a number of antibiotics for my condition. They work...on the bacteria, while leaving the root cause of acne (oil plugs) untouched. The Retin-A, it seems, appears to be helping to eliminate the oil plugs, so that the pimples don’t form in the first place. So I’ll give my current dermatologist a thumbs up over my other two.
