A day after buying the cereal, Thomas Roddenberry said he discovered the tampon in his bowl after taking a bite of the cereal.

I find their claim highly suspicious, looking for some quick settlement money.

Did it say “Free Used Tampon Inside!” on the outside of the box or is your wife PO’d at you?

Was the chain also the manufacturer? If it was a national brand and the box was sealed the store shouldn't be held liable. IF the story is true.

Its probably possible a ticked off cereal worker was able to toss it into the production line.

This happened two years ago. The cereal is trackable by lot to the time and place of production. The evidence, such as it is, contains DNA. If true, that worker would have been identified already.

I guess the theory of the lawsuit is that grocery stores have an obligation to open and screen prepackaged food items.

I bet the tampons are only in two or three out of every thirty boxes.

I have heard the phrases, “who peed in his cereal this morning?” or “Why did you have to come here and pee in the cereal?” “Why is there a tampon in my cereal?” is definitely a new one.
