This is true only for people who don’t remember the 60’s and 70’s. The venom for Nixon and Reagan was every bit as nasty.

Nixon deserved it. Wage and price controls? Really?

The venom at aimed at President Reagan was pathetic. If you weren't paying attention to anything other than the major media, you would think there was a bumbling idiot in the White House who could do nothing right and was destroying the country, except that all the misery from the Carter years just sort of disappeared and everyone started doing really well.

So yes, they've done this before. President Reagan survived. Actions speak louder than words and the lasting prosperity his policies fostered spoke for themselves. So can Governor Palin.

But weren’t Nixon and Reagan vying for political office?

They were relentlessly pursued after entering the Oval Office. Nixon got so frustrated after losing the California gubernatorial election after losing to Kennedy and famously quit politics forever saying to the press "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around any more".

Those were also the days of the (Un)Fairness Doctrine, so alternative viewpoints were effectively banished to 4am - 5am, Sunday mornings.

I'm not particularly a fan of Nixon, but you have to admire him for sticking with it and never ultimately giving up. Can you imagine how a Barack Obama would hold up under such circumstances? Hah.

Great article and it hits the nail on the head. Palin is an American Original. Our first prominent Alaskan as far as I know; the last of the frontier. She is a stunning woman, gorgeous, a hunter which means she actually knows how to hunt and use a gun and does so. She rose to the highest levels of politics in an unusual way, from local to state to national . . . most prominent national politicians used wealth, family connections, military heroism, or localized implementation of a national movement to rise to prominence. She is like Harry Truman, a regular guy so to speak with a sudden prominence from the VP nod. She took on the establishment base of her own party on behalf of the people when she took on big oil in Alaska, and took on the Stevenson corruption of “pork” when she took on the “bridge to nowhere.” She’s someone that should be uniformly lionized. She’s a “puff piece” ready made . . . but the leftist control of big media stops that from happening.

This article does explain why.

Time to make the left’s heads explode and expose thier vanity and thier lack of relationship with the American people. The left wing media empire has no clothes.

This bugs me because I consider her to be just like me. I do not have cameras pointing at me 24/7, but we are very similar in many ways. So these attacks become personal to me.

Yeah...well she’s the most serious threat to the status quo in DC...the Rinocratic Party...the world’s most powerful political establishment. I really am not too surprised.

There’s double the hatred foisted on Palin as there was Reagan or Bush because she is a woman. Female Dems cannot abide the idea that millions of American women do not share their anti-male, anti-free market, and anti-American notions. Every women running for office should at least pay lip service to the skanky feminists who ruined women and damaged America. Actually it wouldn’t matter if it were Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Michelle Bachman, or other notable female conservatives. They would all receive the same barbs and irrational hatred as Palin is getting. It’s just that she’s the one poised to be the first female president.

“Nixon deserved it. Wage and price controls? Really?”

The loathing of RMN started long before wage and price controls were a gleam in his eye. The left hated him for calling Helen Gahagan Douglas a communist and hated him even worse for exposing and getting Alger Hiss (one of their heros and, not coincidentally, a founder of the UN and State Dept Honcho) convicted as a Soviet spy. Later, they hated him for not surrendering in the Vietnam war. Loathing of RMN was entirely unrelated to wage and price controls.

Thanks for the info. I can’t see Obama tolerating anything other than having a position handed to him. The real nitty-gritty in fighting would reduce him to tears, in public. Hah! is right.

Rinocratic party! I love it!

I recall that the Dems want to be the Democratic Party when in fact they are legally the Democrat party. Some really bristle at being called Democrat party - I love that too. So it’s a toss up for me between the Rinocratic party and the Rinocrat party. :)

Regarding the picture of the ‘lady in red’ that you posted. I think she and Condi Rice would make quite an impression visiting foreign nations. :)
