Eight Commandments of the Left - Explains Everything They Say and Do (info-vanity)

(Another Freeper suggested I Post this...)

Folks keep looking for “truth” in the words and statements coming from the progressive MSM, where quite frankly none is expected.

It’s damned aggravating.

Here is how they operate. It’s quite simple and explains everything they say and do. It hangs on their office walls.

Irving Janis was a Psych professor at Yale (ring a bell). He researched groupthink and developed eight groupthink behaviors. I recast them a little below as commandments of the progressive left.

I Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II Thou shall not allow any member to question the group’s inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

VIII Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions

For each of these, clear examples are limitless.

For #4 Bush was evil and stupid, Palin is cast a stupid bimbo as portrayed by Tina Fey http://www.makli.com/tina-fey-sarah-palin-0034693/ ...Glenn Beck is a now an evil closet Nazi and of course ALL conservatives are stupid hicks and evil racists.

For #7 we have the beat down of a black Tea Party Member http://stlouisteaparty.com/2009/08/07/union-thugs-deliver-unprovoked-beating-on-black-conservative-at-carnahan-town-hall/

...and so on ad infinitum

This is the playbook by which all progressive message and action is derived, broadcast and acted upon.

I wish Glenn Beck would pick this up and give it the same attention as his Cloward and Piven revelation.

He researched groupthink and developed eight groupthink behaviors. I recast them a little below as commandments of the progressive left.

Confronted with the choice to initiate the mental effort needed to pursue knowledge, to focus his mind, to think-or not to bother-the irrational libtard social metaphysician with a groupthink mentality characteristically chooses not to bother, particularly if crucial issues are at stake.

Confronted with the choice to stand by the judgment of his mind or to act on a wish he knows to be irrational, he characteristically sticks by his wish and defies his mind, invalidating its judgment.

Confronted with the choice between his own understanding and the assertions of others, he characteristically abandons his own understanding, finding it "safer" to pass the responsibility of judgment to others.

All so the the irrational libtard social metaphysician can belong to the group.

The need to be accepted overpowers all else. That is the sign of a weak minded individual, the kind progressive leaders prey on through oppressive reinforcement of groupthink behavior.
