The sugar remark is because sometimes (not all but some) floaters can be caused by incipient diabetic retinopathy. My son is a Type I and has to watch for such things.
Interestingly, I have several things that are diabeticish, and yet, I am not. Good catch (actually by blood sugar tends toward low).
