A TERRITORY girl is lucky to be alive after she was mauled by a savage dog.
Seven-year-old Meg Croton and her brother Connor, 9, had been feeding their family's dog - an eight-year-old mastiff cross - in their Humpty Doo back yard when the girl was attacked by the vicious hound.
"I tripped on a rock and fell, and I think I kicked his leg," Meg recalled the attack. "And then it hurt very badly and he was on top of me and ripped on my head. "But my brother saved my life."

I was only armed with what my dad taught me in self defense and spiked heels. It was a bloody mess. WOW... what a mind image that is. I hardly ever wear heels. As I am tall enough without to be intimidating people as it is without standing over them.

Wow. Great stories. I often wear heels and will remember your bloody mess. You are some brave lady!! Good for your dad for teaching you those skills.
I do have one decent dog story. One night, out in the country visiting family, I went outside to get something in the backyard when I heard a big dog's bark not but a few feet away. Before I knew it I was sitting on top of the shed. Someone had to get me down. (I'm only 5') Next morning I tried and tried to get back up on that shed and I couldn't. It was too high.

I had to put *something* silly in there to lighten it up a bit.
[~and~ see if anybody would notice it]....:))
You’re welcome.
I hope it works quickly and you’re always welcome to write if you run into a problem.
Most dogs are pretty psychologically predictable and run “true to form” but once in a while, you get a “brainiac” that will attempt to outwit ~your~ outwitting of *it*...:)
*They* may take more effort but wind up being the brilliant, “thinking” dogs you’ll never forget.

OK. So. Like, nobody asked me for my opinion....
That said!
but once in a while, you get a brainiac that will attempt to outwit ~your~ outwitting of *it*...:)
I LOVE those kind of dogs.
Slithering away again....

I've been “blessed” with two of them and I *suspect* God has just favored me with a third.
The first two are long gone.
The third is just now ‘showing his hand’, so to speak...:))
There are dogs you will always remember and then there are dogs you will NEVER forget.
Those two [and this potential new one] fall into the latter category.
If I wanted a pet who slavishly, constantly, robotically obeyed me as if it had no mind or will of its own, I'd just get a goldfish.
Those “smart @ss” dogs ][LOL] were the ones who had so much personality it was almost supernatural.
How I loved them for the sake of their “own selves” and miss them still.
[and we're talking 8 and 26 years gone, here but not a day goes by.....]
