A TERRITORY girl is lucky to be alive after she was mauled by a savage dog.
Seven-year-old Meg Croton and her brother Connor, 9, had been feeding their family's dog - an eight-year-old mastiff cross - in their Humpty Doo back yard when the girl was attacked by the vicious hound.
"I tripped on a rock and fell, and I think I kicked his leg," Meg recalled the attack. "And then it hurt very badly and he was on top of me and ripped on my head. "But my brother saved my life."

Tormentor....:-P
I almost bought Photoshop, but Nateman talked me into getting GIMP which is a free alternative. All my pics and GIFS are done using GIMP.
Oh, did you want them, too?
Sorry ‘bout dat.
Check again.
You are just FULL of information. That’s good. But seriously... every one of them has been a tangent. You do know this... right? I mean, are we ever talking about dog bites? A dog bites man is a non story. This was a little girl having her HEAD RIPPED OFF to the bone of her skull!!!
Don’tcha think we should stick to that? I sure as heck don’t wanna hafta agree with you AGAIN over some point I never made or desired to make. You could probably find we agree on 90% of it. So, let’s not play there.
It’s this 10%... ATTACK. From a dog that was older and that they did NOT have very long and had an unknown history.
I say that it is just too risky... and stand by NEVER. For small children. And say, as I have 16 times now, or more, adults for adults. Puppies for babies.
THAT simple.
You get an 8 year old adult dog, of which you know little to nothing, and turn it lose with your 7 year old, you might as well just TELL it to bite them. That about what I said to start this ball rolling, right?
Just trying to steer us back to the 10%. Unrepentant. I stand by it.
Thanks, Eaker. High praise indeed with the great PS stuff you do. Seeing the work of guys like you, Nateman and Potlatch convinced me to learn GIMP.
Wow... a toddler... Yeah, I am very sure you will NOT regret the return. Wait until she is old enough to be responsible. 8-12. And if she wants a puppy, have a budget for it. Seriously. I mean for all it's shots, emergencies, and training. Make sure the time is set aside and make it a GREAT activity she will treasure all her SAFE life.
= D
Hell yes.
Some are very exclusive, as in folks I'd count on in hostile environments at night.
Folks I know personally and would trust with weapons at my back.
Also, I was a Community Leader on AOL.
Oh, my. I wouldn't admit that out loud.
Is that hopeless romanticism?
You're hot for me. Who ain't?
I humbly thank you.
I have a copyright on all things humble.
GIMP is fun, too.
I think it also supports PS plugins.
[yes, I am a plugin addict]...LOL
I’m still working on 7 and dread the day I upgrade to a version of windows that won’t support it. I don’t want to have to buy the next best thing. :(
So sue me. HAHAHA
I stumbled upon photoshop on Amazon auctions for 98$ several years ago (still in the pkg but minus the book) and felt like I cut a fat hog. I use it all the time, in fact I spend way too much time on it as the thousands of photos on my flickr page attest.
Both Vista and Win7 support it.
I installed it on hubby’s computer because I wasn’t using it any more.
7 was good and stable and the only difference was that the “CS” versions included some new features that most casual users would never need, any way.
Photoshop has made analog cameras pretty much obsolete, as far as I’m concerned. I never use my EOS Elan II anymore, preferring my EOS 30D. I have my eye on the EOS 60D for 50mm’s Christmas present, if he’s been good. It captures HD video and still uses all his Canon EF lenses.
I had to use a newer version this summer (to make a few extra name tags for our reunion because I didn’t have it on my laptop) and I really didn’t like it. I’m sure I would learn it, but it was different enough to be frustrating. I’m not interested in learning it again. LOL It’s not like I do it for a living. :)
In the attack the dog grabbed the girl by the arm and pulled her on the ground before scratching her back and taking a chunk out of her head, exposing her skull.
You have no evidence that the kid, a 7 year old, did anything to the dog, and yet you say she "got what she deserved. skin ripped off exposing he skull. I suppose if she cut a leg off the dog with a cleaver or maybe stabbed it in the gut with a bayonet I might agree with you, but as it stands your attitude toward toward a human child as compared to a dog still leaves me questioning your humanity. I also question the judgement and sanity of people who have small children get large dogs.
I’m a Nikon girl. But still, yes, I wouldn’t even think of using film. I have been scanning all of our old photos. Did all of my dads and father in laws slides several years ago and all the VHS tapes to disk a few summers ago (I have to figure out how to edit them, I am not the most techie person in the world) so I can put them into some format to give the boys. For my husband’s birthday I did a slide show with music of our years together. It was fun. I love what you can do today with digital. Photoshop lets you clean those scanned photos up and make them presentable.
Then stick with 7.
You know it, you’re comfortable with it, it does what you need it to and that’s *all* you need.
Never feel pressured to “upgrade” just because everyone else is.
Frankly, I could install -4- and be perfectly content with that, if I had to.
Just *enjoy* it.
:)
The fun in Photoshop is in the way it lets the artistically retarded like me to pretend to be creative. LOL
I would have stuck with 4, but at some point when I upgraded computers windows would not support it, thus my upgrade to 7. I agree with you. It’s different if your a pro I suppose but it’s hard enough to justify my expensive hobby! :)
LOL I’m sure that’s not true. But, it does let me seem like I know what I’m doing.
