Maybe for some people, but I’ve found it a really valuable tool for keeping in touch with friends and family scattered all over the country.
I also only “friend” people I’m close to - I have no interest in boosting my numbers with a bunch of acquaintances.
I agree with you that facebook is a useful tool for us to stay in touch with family and friends.
However, I would say most folks use facebook as a way to say “Hey, look at me.”
I also think facebook can be very dangerous.
That’s pretty much why I have a Facebook page. Family & friends everywhere! I DO have a friend who’s a writer, though. He posts some funny stuff, but for the most part, i dont need to know the daily details about everyone’s existence!
Same here. If I don’t know you, or you’re not really my friend, no thanks!
I do have one friend who has over 3,000 “friends”. She’s 23 and she accepts any request because she wants to appear popular. She’s constantly posting videos of herself playing her guitar and singing (poorly). She was probably the main subject of this study.
