We had 80% on our side with the mosque situation. The middle that is crucial to win over—not to appease, the middle to CONVINCE that our way is the right way—was with us on that, and thinking Obama and the libs are the radicals here, not the eeeeevil right wingers.
Along comes this Pastor Terry Jones, and the dems now have an opening—”See, see? They’re all crazy book burners!”
Within a month, wonder if the percentage against the mosque is that high?
This isn’t about the right to burn Korans—we have the right to do it all day, so let’s not use the liberals’ talking points about the mosque. This isn’t about religious freedom.
Why am I even bothering? People would rather burn a silly book of lies because it’ll piss off a few talking heads than stay focused on the real problem.
Wonderful post. I can’t believe how many conservatives are being pulled into this trap.
Yep.
Sometimes you just feel like banging your head on cement... because too many people have lost the ability to actually THINK.... maybe we should mandate chess playing when people are young, then they would learn to think ahead to ramifications of their moves (in the game and in life).
Amen and bravo. Reason and coherent thought is getting harder and harder to find on FR these days, so thanks for posting The Truth.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Pastor takes the High Road and forgoes burning the koran and challenges the imman to do the same and forgo building the mosque at ground zero as an act of tolerance and humility(aka modesty).
