They had the Velvet Underground pretty darn high, I mean I know they were real influential and all that, but how many people even know the name of one of their songs?
My two older brothers took me a to a VU concert back in 70 or 71 (post Lou Reed, unfortunately), and it was the first place I ever saw a man dressed as a woman - it had to be a man - and the first (and only) time I saw a woman overdose, probably on heroin. I didn't go to another concert again until '74.

They were hugely overrated and I think the Warhol connection was the key. Lou Reed sucks. John Cale was/is pretty cool.
