He only barks when someone slips up on him. He HAS to be around one human at all times. So, if he knows only me and my wife are home, and someone appears at the door... or if our son gently knocks on the door... lookout. He sounds much much bigger than he is.

He respects aggression it seems. If you just walk into the house, he probably won’t bark. But knock gingerly... lookout.

I have heard him bark 4 times in 5 weeks.

The one we had (it was my daughter's dog....)...barked constantly...at everything. Seems like a LEAF blowing on the driveway was all it took. I'm real happy that yours is quiet.

And warm? Oh yes...you can't ask for a warmer dog to have lay on you that a dachsund. (Or, maybe, my two GSD's at once?) Ha!
