Iggy Pop, Lady Gaga, RZA and Perry Farrell are just a few of the “special guests” joining Yoko Ono on her two-night stand at L.A.’s Orpheum Theatre in October.

Ono is recreating her NYC performances, dubbed “We Are Plastic Ono Band,” which took place in February at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. These days the Plastic Ono Band is directed by son Sean and backed by Yuka Honda and Cornelius, which is made up of Keigo Oyamada, Shimmy Hirotaka Shimizu and Yuko Araki.

When Ono announced the Oct. 1-2 Los Angeles gigs earlier this month, she teased that the performances would include a few special guests. Now she’s come clean with the list and it is an impressive roster.

The Oct. 1 show will include visitations by Iggy Pop, The RZA, Perry Farrell, Carrie Fisher, Vincent Gallo, Haruomi Hosono, Harper Simon, Tune-Yards and Nels Cline. On Oct. 2 look for appearances by Lady Gaga, Mike Watt and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore.

The grand enabler of John Lennon’s arrogance, which destroyed the Beetles, long ago wore out any affection among the not-so-brain-dead.

Didn’t they use Yoko’s ‘music’ to soften up the prisoners at Gitmo?

I’m really sorry, Yoko. Won’t be able to make it.

And am mighty glad not to have to sit through whatever it is.

Could care less, except that I’m a bit disappointed that Iggy Pop and Kim Gordon will be there. I’ve seen both in concert, and both have far more talent than Yoko.

I question a number of Iggy Pop’s recent musical decisions. He partnered with Sum41 on his album a few years back.
