“Douglas, 65, is now undergoing radiation and chemotherapy five days-a-week every three weeks to rid himself of a walnut-sized tumor at the base of his tongue.”

That is a big tumor especially where it is located.

And the article says that it is a late stage four cancer but he has a 80% chance of beating it.

That doesn’t compute, IMO.

I have a co-worker who had basically the same thing and fully recovered. It all depends on the type of tumor and how well it responds to treament. I wish Douglas a full and speedy recovery.

Some cancers are much more aggressive than other types...Common skin cancer is highly curable, yet the skin cancer melanoma is an aggressive and fast spreading kind...Lot of times it depends on where the original cancer has already spread to other parts of the body...once it metastasizes its tough to get a cure.....
