I had a dog like that and a freeper told me to feed her yogurt. I put a large tablespoon of yogurt on top of her feed and in about 2 weeks the gas problem went away....

The gas was so bad, she'd do it sleeping beside my chair and I'd look around for the pile of steaming crap...never did wake up from her own smells..
