This is one story that U.S. News & World Report's Washington Whispers might want to keep to a low whisper or risk even more ridicule than what they are already receiving. Paul Bedard, writing in Washington Whispers, quotes Kennedy's biographer and former girlfriend who claim that Ted was really an innocent victim of the Chappaquiddick accident. Here is Kennedy biographer Burton Hersh making the case for Kennedy as merely a lousy driver:
Now, a year after Kennedy died, his lifelong biographer Burton Hersh, armed with fresh interviews with Kennedy's mistress at the time, tells Whispers that the whole July 1969 episode should have been handled as a simple crash, leaving the senator's legacy untainted. "It was a car accident," he says. "Ted was a terrible driver. He never paid much attention to where he was going."
"He took a tremendous blow on the head," says Hersh. In interviews following the crash, Kennedy displayed confusion and amnesia, he says.

He wasn’t simply a lousy driver, he was (MOST CERTAINLY LIKELY) drunk at the time of the accident, making the young girl’s death not a mere “accident” but negligent homicide in the course of a DWI.
Having spared TK the worst possible affects from the truth during his lifetime, his family’s media network is now apparently trying to further rehabilitate the TK legacy.
If we did not have the Lamestreammedia, state media that we have today, that rehabilitation would be near impossible because the general public would be armed with the knowledge that during Reagan’s second POTUS campaign, TK sent an intermediary to Moscow to enlist the Soviets in a campaign of mutual assistance to defeat Reagan’s re-election.
I despise the Kennedy clan with a passion. RFK, JR works out at my gym and I just want to see him expelled.
I always thought that the crash was a set up. It was obvious after two dead brothers they couldn’t get rid of a third in the same way and yet he could not be allowed to become president. What better way?
In addition, the next morning, he was having breakfast at the Edgartown in with an older couple. He was totally calm, wasn’t the least bit agitated. Then his senior aid found him there and pulled him aside. He was losing after the aide informed him of something. He was shaking, near tears.
Now I know the Kennedy’s are pretty close to socio-paths, but even this seems a stretch for Teddy. His actions were not consistent with someone who fled a murder scene. After the confer with the aide, they left the breakfast.
Preposterous rewrite of history.
Ted was a skirt chasing jerk and evidence over and over proves it.
“Lousy driver,” indeed.
“He’s back on the street,
The chap’s acquitted!”
Besides, why should the story of Ted Kennedy be any more accurate than the rest of the sh*t that passes for history in public schools?
I have been to Chappaquidick. Teddy had to walk miles past large numbers of occupied houses (with phones), take a ferry back to Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard, and spent the entire night on the phone looking for a patsy to take the fall.
While Mary Joe struggled for air in the shallow waters.
Even the liberal Park Rangers on Chappaquidick say Kennedy was a murderer.
This “brain damaged” lie is completely preposterous.
one word, REVISIONISM
Bush’s fault
Yeah, it might work. Say something like, “everything I do is for you and the family and when I drink and cheat, that’s just harmless amusement”...
Doesn’t work because the whole saga was what he did seconds, minutes, hours, days and years after the crash, not the crash itself.
lol, always
Many years ago we had a terrible fire in which we lost a house, and barely escaped with our lives. I entered a strange state of shock. Friends and family were talking to me, and I didn’t comprehend who they were or what they were saying. It was very strange. I kept thinking, who are all these people?
But I remember I got my kids out the door, and tried to get to an apartment to rescue the tenant.
Unless this man was so loopy he went straight into a hospital, I don’t believe this story. Certain survival things kick in.
JFK was probably the only Kennedy who was any good at all and he was taken out by a left wing liberal commie nut job.
I think in ted’s honor everyone should use this defense—”I didn’t kill that guy, I’m just a lousy driver. I’m a victim here. In fact, his estate should pay me, because he was in the way of my lousy driving.”
The thing some don’t understand about liberals and the press is that they live by trial balloon journalism/ethics—TRY it, and see what people will buy, and if it doesn’t stick, what have you lost? And if it DOES stick, you’ve won.
RFK, JR? Are you talking about JFK, JR? I have no idea what you’re talking about.
"Ted was a terrible driver human being. He was always so plastered he never paid much attention to where he was going had a clue what he was doing."
ROFLMAO!!!
WINNNER!
“Many years ago we had a terrible fire in which we lost a house, and barely escaped with our lives.”
Been there, done that myself....It is a very sad experience.
ROFLMAO!
YOU GUYS ARE KILLIN’ ME!
