Since there were eyewitness accounts in this CNN report, it most likely is accurate. I do know however that in the early days after the storm, there were many reports that later proved not to be true and those ranged from numerous shots being fired at rescue helicopters, to rapes and wholesale murder going on in the Superdome. The article that I posted a few days ago, and that I again link below, cites those people in a position to really know what happened in its contradicting of those earlier reports.
No one who was not in New Orleans, and I include myself as my family and I were in a hotel in Birmingham for three weeks watching hometown events unfold on the television, can know for certain all of what transpired in the days after Katrina. I must rely on others for that information and hope that I am getting the true story.
