That's not my beef with all this, my issue is that Katrina did damage all over - some received more destruction than others with its shear force.
These tribute shows all center around NO, where Katrina's category force didn't do the harm, the inadequate levy system did and alot of rain....but nary is the talk about lessons learned in engineering or where does funding go when it doesn't build walls.
It's all about the destruction of Katrina - and it's all focused on one city that in retrospect didn't get the brunt - if everyone in the city put their garden hose into the lake and turned them on the same thing could of happened (exaggeration) - would there be a special "The great garden hose disaster" - yearly? Maybe so, Mrs. O'Leary's Cow got the press in Chicago...the Cow in all this today is named Katrina - a cover up in that city to what really went terribly wrong.
