“anal sacks in canines”

When we bathed our Cairn terrier, the person giving him the bath always squeezed—or `expressed’—the sacks on either side of his anus.
The member of my family tasked with this chore would take his/her thumbs and gently squeeze. Often these sacks were full of some yellowish, pus-like or musky substance. The warm water made it easier and I believe he appreciated it. Those of us who had taken our turns witnessed the procedure and made sure that it was done properly.

I hope that did not offend any reverends.

I have a friend that works for a Vet and she always volunteers to massage the anal glands of large dogs just before we have lunch. then, during lunch, she relays her adventure. some people have all the luck.

LOL... I have a friend who was once told at a Vet visit that his dog was having “anal sacks”. My friend freaked out and said there was NO WAY his dog was having anal sacks!!! He grabbed his dog and stormed out not knowing what the Vet was talking about. LOL!!!
