The limited message sounds like a windows message. You can get that if you can connect to your router, but the router is not talking to thie net.

Check you DSL/Cable modem and then make sure your router is talking to your ISP.

No, "limited or no connectivity" means that your laptop or whatever isn't able to get a local IP address from the router.

Check the IP address of the laptop (I presume you know how) -- if it's not 192.168.1.X, then you don't have a local IP address you can use. 192.168.1.1 is the local address of the ROUTER -- it shouldn't be assigned to the laptop.

I can't tell you exactly why you are having the problem without more information, but I suspect it is because you configured the router with a secure wireless network and have mis-entered the key on the laptop. Sometimes, that's how it manifests the error.

Absolutely, I just went through this mess with my local ISP provider, even went as for as reformatting my P/C.
Charter tech sucks, had to wait four days for new modem. Going to WalMart and purchase my own modem, $29.95.
