Have you tried Hyperbaric therapy?
My SiL had MRSA in his knee from an ACL operation. Went the picc line , vac pump route for a year. Infection spread into the bone.
Finally got hyperbaric treatments. Wound finally closed.
Bacteria may still be harbored in the bone but he has no symptoms now.
Interesting. Never heard of the hyperbaric option. Seems the laminectomies and I&D’s arent doing the trick. Little pockets still remain in the epidural space.
The problem is there are only 2 ID doctors in Tallahassee. Next time its Shands or Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
