There's an implication here that the 'biological' aspects will go away and that only the sentient machines will be left. Skynet, anyone? Bruce Sterling explored aspects of this in some science fiction stories and at least one novel. He saw humanity splitting and going in two directions:
Shapers -- solve problems through genetic manipulation. They become "more than human" with long lives, no disease, and some enhanced abilities.
Mechanists -- solve problems through cybernetics. They become the "six million dollar man", in effect. Telescope in the eye socket, artificial limbs, etc.

Both factions of humanity grow to despise the other.
