That’s HP’s fault. I have been so disgusted with HP and their lack of support in keeping up with the drivers—printers, in particular—over the last 5-8 years, that I threaten them that I will buy Brother (which are good, btw)or competing products when they try nail me with a charge for tech support for failed products, and they cave. I mean printers, they built a great reputation years ago for having the best printers, but no mas. Jus sayin...

I had a G85 officejet for about 10 years, it wasn't too bad, it did all the things I needed (except 2-sided printing). But about a year ago it started printing color jobs with lines through them occasionally.
However, my biggest beef with it was the COST OF INK. It used the HP45 and HP78 (easy to remember for those of us who remember record players and vinyl records) and together it was over $50 for ink...too much.
Also, the G85 is huge...so I bought me a Lexmark Prevail Pro 705, and I have been perfectly happy with it. It prints faster, does double-side, and it's also a scanner, fax, and copier...a little over $100. It uses multiple ink cartridges, and I haven't used it enough to have to change them yet, so the jury is still out on ink costs...hopefully it will be a lot less.

Yeah, I just don’t get HP at all. I have to use “XP Mode” to print to my LaserJet from Windows 7. It works fine, but WTH man!

A "driver" for an HP printer is an oxymoron. You typically cannot even find one - they come bundled with crapware only. When it comes to software and driver support, HP is absolutely the worst, bar none. I will NEVER buy another HP printer.
