WARREN, Mich. - A Warren woman takes matters into her own hands after she says a pit bull attacked her small lap dog. She says it is not the first time the pup has attacked, so she shot it. Meanwhile, the owners of the pit bull are very upset. They say the dog is friendly and plays with all the kids in the area.
Is a seven-month-old pup who was shot in the back a victim or a ruthless and vicious dog? That depends on who you ask.
On Saturday, Tiffany Pope says Diamond, the next door neighbor's pit bull, attacked and was ready to kill her dog, so she pulled out a gun and fired one shot.

You advocate killing all pit bulls regardless of their behavior
yet get offended and whine to the Mod because I use your interest
in worms to characterize your personality?
Sorry to have bruised your tender sensitivities
I’ll try not to bait you with worms in the future
but please do try to grow up, stop with the over-reaching generalizations
and stop advocating the mass killing of other folks pets.
The entire process of needing a CCW is an infringemnt of your right to bear arms. “Bear” as in to carry. Having to ask permission to carry a firearm is a denial of your second amendment rights.
Do you support having to get a license, pay a fee, and take a training course to vote? It’s no different.
Good for her; it sounds like the dog’s owner was being very irresponsible.
Having to ask permission to carry a firearm...
Indeed it is. Unfortunately, the State “regulates” many of our inalienable, Constitutional rights and many of these regulations are in fact, reasonable. We don’t issue a CCW to a 4 year old, nor do we allow convicted felons to carry firearms.
I do think that the idea of a Training Course in order to vote has merit. We wouldn’t be in this mess...
As a free man your willingness to accept the infringement of your rights should be a point of shame. Ben Franklin said it best with “no free man shall be debarred the use of arms.”
Although cliche, “shall not be infringed” actually has some meaning, even in this day and age. Nobody in government has the authoirty to tell a person if they may or may not be armed, or where they may do so. “Reasonable” restrictions, as you call them, are an illusion of false authority and should be ignored.
Then you too, should feel shame. As a voting man, you must accept some level of responsibility for the individuals who have imposed these infringements and regulations.
Your little Libertarian tirade may impress a few, but it will carry NO weight when you stand before a judge or jury and try to explain your disregard for speed limits, tax assessments or the regulations that you, as a voter, helped put in place.
Whatever, many of us are tired of seeing America’s children mutilated, mauled, and killed by Pit Bulls, do I want to see them completely eliminated, you bet, and so do many others and the numbers are growing daily.
You’re a foolish fanatic and a pea brain.
Hit abuse on that if you want.
No need, I can take it ...
“Whatever, many of us are tired of seeing Americas children mutilated, mauled, and killed by Pit Bulls, do I want to see them completely eliminated, you bet, and so do many others and the numbers are growing daily.”<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
What about all the other people getting mauled (two thousand every day in this country)and killed by dogs that aren’t pit bulls? 19 people died last year because others thought their non-pit bull-type dogs were safe, regardless of training, socialization, and safe keeping. Most of the victims on both sides are children, and most of those are very young and unattended with the dogs.
Once pit bulls are gone, will you be happy knowing the same amount of people on average will die every year from other breeds? I won’t, and that’s why I try to show people how blaming and banning a breed will do nothing. It has already shown to be completely ineffective in the places that have bothered to research the effects of their bsl. However, responsible ownership laws are becoming more popular because out of all the legislation out there, those types of laws are the only ones that have reduced attacks, even serious ones. Some of the countries that led the way in breed specific laws have already repealed their bans, opting for the more effective of the two. The UK isn’t far behind, having found their serious attacks increasing dramatically in the past few years.
prologue...
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
When that day comes, I will be with you on the front lines. Till then, we all must live in the real world...
