A sports car once owned by the late British actress Diana Dors has sold for $3 million (£1.9m) at a California auction.
The 1949 Delahaye Roadster, which some have dubbed the most beautiful car in the world, was given to Dors when she was 17.
The sky blue car has been described by auctioneers as "extravagant and outrageous - a rolling sculpture".
Dors, who was seen as the British Marilyn Monroe, died in 1984 aged 52

I don't often post fluff but this car is absolutely beautiful. I'm sure there are freepers that will enjoy this.

“Some who have dubbed the most beautiful car in the world.”
Some should get their eyes checked. A lot of stuff they park on those fairways in Monterey are junk. Jayne Mansfield had a lot more va va voom than Diana Dors. They all met young deaths. Monroe was really pathetic.

I can't decided if it the most hideous car ever made or the most hilarious. It looks like either a nightmare or a cartoon. It is worse looking that a Smartcar.

Monroe was really pathetic. Did you have to work to get that much negativity in one sentence, or does it come naturally?
To: Prokopton
I used 6 sentences. The car is ugly. I said Jayne Mansfield was hotter? How is that negative?
Sadly they all met a young death which was tragic and is a factual statement.
Marilyn was a slut used by the Kennedys - this is largely another factual statement.

I just recently watched Diana Dors in something on the Internet. Let's see, what was it . . .
Was she in that episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" that the network refused to show, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice?" If so she faked an American accent very well.

There's fluff, and then there's good fluff. Interesting car. Looks expensive.
