I love cats and this is a cute story. But...

Someone had catnapped him. "How or why that happened, I can't say," said SPCA spokeswoman Jennifer Lu. "But we had the police involved, volunteers looking for him. We were very worried."

Seriously? The cops were out looking or a stray cat that probably just escaped. What reason do that have for believing that it was a catnapping?

Many of these shelters are not attended in the evenings and since the cats are secured in cages a missing animal means a break in. We had one here recently and the shelter operators were concerned that someone would come back and injure or take other animals. I offered to donate for an alarm system, but they claim it is just not practical.
