The forthcoming Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg flick The Other Guys may yet be riddled with pot shots from film critics. Poor Ferrell and Wahlberg -- on Muni, they can't shoot back.
While the official poster for the film features a maniacal Ferrell and the menacing Wahlberg sailing through the air, guns drawn, the version in Muni stations features Ferrell brandishing a vial of pepper spray and Wahlberg relying upon his bare fists. This is not a coincidence.
"Well, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency does have an advertising policy that states ads should not appear to promote the use of firearms or advocate any violent action," explains spokesman Paul Rose.

The "sanitized" version:
Oh brother. I am going to this movie and looking forward to it. It looks really funny. I will most likely take my 12 year old son.
Note that Ferrel is just brandishing the gun, but is actually discharging the pepper spray.
It has it’s moments... “Aim for the bushes?”
PC run amok. Typical SF BS.
I am sure, but many people were upset with The Blind Side because that very funny scene about the (at the time) current President. Some people just don’t see humor. I understand that President Bush had a very good sense of humor.
So what does San Fran have against the Desert Eagle?
Actually I think the poster is funnier with them shooting pepper spray instead of bullets. It’s so ridiculous in that context.
i enjoyed it!
Saw the movie this afternoon. I enjoyed it, but not much.
That is just so gay.
They won’t even allow filming violent movies in San Fagcisco these days. No more Dirty Harry.
This is not my favorite genre of movie. I am more into drama, special effects, fantasy. and my overall fav is movies based on true story.
compared to some of the other “comedy” this past year (like grown ups) , The Other Guys is pretty good.
