Someone posted a link about something called a rocket stove on a survival thread some time back.

There are all kinds of rocket stoves out there, but this one seemed the best.

Does anyone recall that?

I like the Stove-Tec Rocketstove. It is on my list of purchases, and I’ve been asking for one for my birthday (Tomorrow). If I don’t get one, I’m going to buy myself one. There are also smaller, fan driven ones that take betteries, make super hot coals, and produce little to no smoke, CO, etc. Both of these run about $60.

There is a video review on this site just down from the top for the rocketstove:

If the stove in #64 is the same, I can find a link for you, no problem, just let me know.

I like the Stove-Tec, too, and that’s what I own. The price is low and the stove itself is VERY substantial and well made. It’s nothing you can pack for a backpacking trip, but would definitely be useful for camping and in a power outage. People have even used a pressure cooker with it!

One of its best features is its energy efficiency. You can literally cook a meal using just twigs.

There’s a video on my blog demonstrating how to use the stove, www.thesurvivalmom.com. Do a search for ‘rocket stove’. You can also visit their official website, but I don’t know if they have instructional videos.
