Just wondering, as strange as it may seem, if there are any Freepers working for the Federal Gov't willing to answer some simple questions about it. I've been approached about the possibility of working for them and am weighing it.

Straight employee, contractor, sub? The nuances are quite different.

The Federal Government is where to go when you want to kill your career. Good benefits and pay. If you make it past 3 years they won't be able to fire you unless you falsify time sheets or travel expenses, or punch out your supervisor.
Be prepared to spend time learning that the best way to beat the system is by giving it exactly what it wants.

Insurance, stable work, decent retirement, are good. Sometimes the pay, working conditions, political environement and coworkers are not so good.

Get ready to work a lot harder in Jan. when the commie in chief allows your taxes to skyrocket.

Sorry to piggy bank on your thread, but I was wondering if anyone here worked for Home Depot?
How about Olive Garden?

I’ve been working for them for 45 years now. Involuntarily except for the three years in the Army.

“Why do you work so hard?” is a question only those in government jobs, and unions hear. Everywhere else they expect you to work harder.

About your tagline: Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.
I disagree, the teens will behave far more responsibly...

I just applied for a six million dollar grant to study whether a red shirt on Star Trek is more likely to die than a female that a Cartwright boy (Bonanza) falls in love with.
It has been weeks so I expect to be living off federal funds pretty soon, does that count?
