The town is using Google Earth to check on backyard
pools. ( Some pools don't have proper permits)
And of course that means hefty fines for the owners of
the 'illegal pools.'
A few years back Phoenix used helicopters to find the green pools. We have had outbreaks of West Nile Virus so it was done as a health precaution. I am not sure if it was City or Department of Public Safety equipment that was used. A lot of people with pebbletech or colored plaster/tiled pools were incorrectly cited and then had to prove themeselves innocent. The city then started issuing notices (which would then result in fines) for anyone who had dead trees or bushes in either their front or rear yards. It cost thousands to have two dead pines taken out. The city got no money from me. I paid my licensed, bonded and insured landscapers. The illegals were knocking on the door within days of the notice. No money from me was sent south of the border.
I guarantee that every candidate who promises to repeal this "great idea" will prevail.
(...and the planner who suggested it out on his butt...)
Two reasons :
Because they can; and
Because we let them.
Revenue tickets against the citizenry.
Note they don’t use such measures to discover where numerous illegal immigrant families are shacked up together despite deed restrictions, etc.
You’ll only see an Obamavoter tax revolt when they finally get around to taxing television viewing per set as they do in England.
