Exactly. This boy has been ruined for life. He's going to go through life thinking that this is how adults behave and that it's acceptable. Worse, is that he's not going to be expecting to get the same from girls of his own age and pressuring them into relationships that they ought not to be in. The consequences of this are going to cascade through whoever he comes in contact with.
I have an 11 year old daughter that is already “grown” if you know what I mean. She has never had a “boyfriend”, held hands with or kissed a boy (other than her brother).
We are very careful what kind of entertainment influences our children. She does not listen to pop music, watch tween movies/tv with dating and kissing or read “romance” novels. In fact she was reading a (christian) historical fiction novel and a girl kissed a boy. She told me she didn’t want to finish it because it wasn’t a good book (morally).
We have raised her for courtship. She has decided to save her heart for her husband. Her dream is that her first kiss will be on her wedding day after she says “I do”. She is very mature and not silly/giddy around boys. She feels very sorry for the teen girls in our youth group when she sees them draw attention to themselves and give their hearts away to any boy that pays them some attention.
The truth is that you can raise young men and women that value purity. I don’t mean the “I am technically still a virgin” brand if “purity”. In this culture it takes work but it can be done.
