8-year-old's behaviour stuns town (Satan's Spawn)

In the isolated town of Stoneville, N.L., population less than 500, residents are starting to wonder what to do about an eight-year-old boy whose behaviour has long concerned them, but has now grown violent.

First, it was a dog bludgeoned to death with a barbecue utensil in June. And now it's a dozen ducks, hens and chicks kept in a backyard as pets, found beaten with gardening tools on Tuesday.

The boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has admitted to both attacks, police say, although he is too young to be charged with a criminal offence. It is believed that the boy used gardening tools he found in the shed of Cory Hodder to kill the birds. Some were so badly abused they had to be euthanized.

"I expected something to happen and I expect more," said resident Marlene Gillingham. "I wish there was something that somebody could do. There should be some kind of a home for kids like this. So they could learn, and get this out of their blood. It's just in him."

Ms. Gillingham has two children herself, aged 5 and 7. She said she worries for their safety as they go to school with the boy.

I certainly would not want my child anywhere near this little terrorist at school. The triad of childhood behaviors that serial murderers usually share is bedwetting, animal cruelty, and pyromania. It would be interesting to know if he exhibits the other two.

No, but I wouldn’t castrate him or take him out in the woods and shoot him, either.

I am just saying every animal abusing child does not grow up to be a people abuser. Particularly when they are only 8.

I am just saying every animal abusing child does not grow up to be a people abuser. Particularly when they are only 8.

Maybe not ALL of them, but there is documented evidence most serial killers abused little animals from the time they were young.

Problem Child Maybe this 8 year old needs to have a finger or two whacked off with a rusty meat cleaver. If he does anything serious again just take off the whole hand. If does it again tack off the other hand. Some times you just have to get medieval on some of those "special children" to help them understand how to behave. Teaching them to govern themselves while valuing life and property should be made a top priority at a young age before they turn into an unreformable, criminal reprobate from hell.

Indeed. Abuse of animals when young is the best predictor of sociopaths. And make no mistake, this child is already a sociopath, that is someone who completely lacks all empathy for fellow creatures, including fellow humans. Usually, though not always, this complete lack of empathy is a result of extreme abuse during early childhood.

At a certain point in development, if empathy hasn't developed, it can not be induced. Don't know if it's too late for this child or not.

I think this is one law we should have kept from the OT:

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (King James Version)

18If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

19Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

20And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

21And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear

Note: Before you all go crazy, keep in mind that if this law were in place parents would act differently, the community would act differently by getting involved earlier and both Husband and Wife would have to agree on the child’s discipline (something that is pretty rare these days).

Some years ago a nephew of mine did something similar. At the age of 6 he went into a neighbor’s chicken pen and killed all the chickens by brutal means (including a knife, if my recollection is right). He denied it to his mother and grandmother but confessed to me.

I understand that he is now in prison. I don’t know why and don’t care to find out. I keep my location a secret since I don’t want anything to do with him. He’s obviously mentally unbalanced.
