I agree. But in the city you can’t grow everything. A small garden won’t cover a large family’s needs, but it’s fun for herbs and tomatoes.

The majority of my vegetables are grown in containers; and you wouldn’t believe how much can be grown in a small space. One Earth Box (roughly 12 x 30 inches) produces a staggering amount of tomatoes...’urban gardening’ is catching on with a lot of people in the cities, as well...people are even using containers on rooftops. There is a LOT of ‘innovating’ going on...

Come to think of it; there is a gentleman in downtown Pasadena who turned his 1/10 acre back yard (that’s pretty small) into a garden that produces SIX THOUSAND pounds of vegetables every year...that should take care of the largest families. :-)
