The feminazis try to claim Jane Austen for their own.

But Jane Austen was actually a staunch upholder of traditional mores, male/female roles, and the traditional approach to courtship and of course, marriage.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say she was conservative (well, she is by today’s standards), but she did nothing to promote the doctrine of the modern feminazi.

Austen was the first to depict marriage not just as a happy conclusion tacked on at the end but as a complicated triangulation of socio-economic and moral issues.
