The article said 4 minutes, not 40 minutes. And that account was given by an anti-whaling activist.
Anti-whaling activist Peter Hammarstedt, 28, exposed last week's killings by posing as a film-maker in the fishing town of Klaksvik.
He said: "One whale had five to six chops to her head. Her death would have been slow and extremely painful. Some whales are hacked repeatedly for up to four minutes until they finally die. When I got to the docks it was a truly gruesome sight."
So even the biased account from the activist with an axe to grind doesn't sound like such a terrible thing to me. Not that I'd like to be hacked to death over four minutes. But I'd prefer not to be shot in the head prior to being butchered as well. And, given the source, I discount the brutality described. I don't support whale hunting, I just can't get emotionally traumatized by this account and photos. So should I see a psychiatrist immediately?
No, that was directed to danamco who demonstrates that (he/she) is mentally unstable, from the comments made on this thread.
