If a teenage boy is looking at porn on the computer, that’s normal. Isn’t that what computers are for? Porn and FR? J/k.
Maybe a sit down is in order?
Guilty or not guilty?
"Anything" he says is quite strong. You can not believe "somethings" that he says. Quite frankly, there is some questions that you should just not ask.
And a good keyboard cleaner perhaps.
It’s the W32.Teenager virus.
>Anything” he says is quite strong.<
Bear with me. I’m just being a hysterical mom. : )
As long as the virus affects only the lid of the toilet seat and not the seat itself, your wife has nothing to complain about. (And your dog probably likes it.)
Be relieved it wasn’t a nekid guy.
A friend was a volunteer at a high school library many moons ago when the internet first came into schools. The printer was next to her desk. A knucklehead accidentally printed an elicit picture during study hall. Needless to say, study hall went on lockdown.
Boys with a computer will do 3 things. Play games, Find Cheats for games and porn.
On the third - I told my boys that I can see anything they do on the computer and that if they clicked those sites they would likely see gay porn and nasty cap that would make them puke. (not far from the truth) They don't know better and were scared I was right. They have browsed some sites and seen some naked ladies but have stayed away from the hardcore crap. So I equate it to looking at playboy. At 16 and 14 so far so good and I knew they were not gay at 12.
On a side note my oldest hates to read. I offered to subscribe to playboy if he would also read the damn articles. He refused. He really doesn't like to read.
just to be sure run superantispyware and assuming nothing is found, run your antivirus from safe mode.
that will almost guarentee your virus free.
Install a key-logger.
Wait a week. Check the log.
You’ll have your answer.
I’ll offer my two cents. My wife and I have raised two boys. Older is now 21, younger is 18. They are GREAT guys.
Don’t get too distressed. We have loved them, been their friends, but been their PARENTS first. Tried never to do things we’d told them not to do. Took them to church since they were small, answered tough questions by going to scripture as the final authority.
BUT STILL - they are young men, and not perfect. We have been lied to, not informed of important things, disrespected, and ignored.
HOWEVER - We have dealt fairly and toughly with them, and they know right from wrong, and know we love them, no matter what.
Treat your son with respect, don’t go berserk, and just tell him you are somewhat disappointed. You don’t have to go to the extreme of thinking he’s lying every time he’s opening his mouth. I do random checks, and they never know when it will be. Sometimes I don’t tell them I’m checking. Sometimes they know. It’s a parent’s job, IMO.
Boys (and girls) mis-behave sometimes. He could be telling the truth, you know. The occasional mis-behavior shouldn’t be punished like a capital crime, unless it truly is one...
Not trying to preach, but you did solicit input on a public forum... God Bless.
Poltergeist? Gremlin? Traveling Obama Gnome?
>Not trying to preach, but you did solicit input on a public forum... God Bless.<
I never got the impression you were preaching and I appreciate your response. : )
My son recommended a long time ago, that I shut my printer down when not in use as it keeps the ink cartridge from drying out faster.
It’s not a big deal... he was just printing porn when you weren’t around, and he got caught... he’s just very embarrassed right now and making excuses. It’s normal.
Sorry to disappoint you, but you might as well get used to it.
Given the facts you have reported here, 99.999% probability that he was up to no good and just didn't hide his tracks well enough. Been there done that!
Good. Have a great weekend.
