When was the last time we had a possible conservative candidate?

If conservatives appear over zealous in your or anyone else’s eyes - I saw tough. If one can’t see it’s not about ‘anyone’ but our country, they are too clueless to even bother with.

Having a conservative leading this country is the only way to bring it back. And that possibility may come to pass or it may not. The “R” establishment does not like her nor are those folks ‘Reagan Era is over’ conservative.

Go SARAH!

The “R” establishment does not like her

That's glaringly obvious. The country club/Rockefeller Republican types (like those McCain staffers) are so clearly against her.

I don't agree with most of your other sentiments, though. Neither Palin nor anyone else is free from criticism or examination of her record and positions, and I find people who cheerlead ANY politician odd.

I think too many of her fans think of her as a friend, or someone who is above politics. She's not, and I don't expect her to be. That she's the best chance we have at this point doesn't mean I cheerlead or shut down my brain, and I indeed do think a lot of her fans have just decided that whatever she does is good, and they make excuses for her mistakes and poor choices, when we should never, ever just buy into ANY politician completely and twist our standards because we "like" them, as if that personal stuff has ANY value in assessing a politician's true worth in these terrible times.

The question is whether we will have a conservative candidate again. Some of us see Sarah as more of a populist than an ideological conservative. She may be a decent person with some conservative instincts, but I do not see her as a conservative leader. She would better serve the conservative cause as a media figure.
