The last thing I want is the ‘notebook experience’. As an adjunct maybe but certainly not for full control. Same w/ touchscreen.
I’ll stick with my Marble Mouse. A friend gave me one several years ago and after about a day I was hooked.
I always keep an extra in the drawer as they seem to be getting scarce.
Are some of these hardware upgrades? Something to wait for or software upgrades available to the crop out now.
My wife wants one and I might talk her into waiting for the right reason.
I'm not sure what you're talking about, zeugma. OSX still has multiple desktops, both real and virtual. Spaces (multiple virtual screens) and multiple monitors are available on even the lowest end Macs... Easily switched between screens or monitors.
No, the iPad has Bluetooth built in and the other items will be coming out with it also. The software will be available as needed for the hardware. There may be hardware that will connect through the single iPod connector port but that will be limited.
I see this as more of a niche product to bring Apple’s mobile customers back into the store to pick up a desktop CPU of some sort.
Call it what it is (ignorance on my part <grin>) As I said in a previous message, I'll check it out when I have time and see if I like it.
Bookmark.
OSX has multiple desktops...called Spaces. I use it all the time.

I dread the day Apple controls the Mac like they do the iPad.
No independent purchase of software...if Jobs decides he doesn’t want me to buy Photoshop he can just remove it from the obligatory store. Also, if he decides he only wants me to use Safari and not Chrome, that will be the only choice open to me.
Yuck..I really, really don’t want to see that.
Thanks, Sword,
Ed
Well, I can call it that, zeugma, but the good news is it's curable!
I rest my hands on the desk or pad around the mouse. My three middle fingers are raised, but my wrist, thumb, and pinky (actually Ring Man too, mostly, LOL) are comfy on the desk pad. I only use the middle fingers, and usually only the pointer, to do most of the tricks and clicks on the mouse. Even with my huge screen, I maximized the speed of the tracking so that without moving my hand or wrist, I can scroll over my whole screen without moving my hand. So it works really well for me.
Check out magic preps to get the most out of your Magic Mouse. http://magicprefs.com/ I don’t have everything, just what I like and need.
