Actually, I’ve been spending the morning reviewing remakes that worked.
I consider Casino Royale to be one of the better Bond films. Still, the trend is disturbing. Did you see the remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”? Disgusting eco-babble.
Another trend is the board game = film trend.
“Candyland” and “Battleship” are supposedly in the works (wtf?), and “Rock ‘em Sock ‘em Robots” will become “Real Steel”, apparently.
The Left has no original ideas, Hollywood included.
For every decent/good/great remake/reimagining (Battlestar!), you get five or ten miserable failures.
Does Ridley Scott want “Monopoly: The Movie” to be his swan song? He isn’t getting any younger and another “Alien” or “
Black Hawk Down” or “Blade Runner” might not be out there.
By 2012, we all may be appearing in our own real-life Mad Max epic, complete with an American Ayatollah of rock-and-roll-a, with his minions killing for a “tank of juice” (gasoline).
Yawn. Yet another remake. Why not remake a dud and make THAT better?
Remake Escape from LA for example.
They are going to need a horse to pull their dead-battery electrocars.
Beyond Silverdome - Mad Max Takes Detroit!
Angelo (Master) Rossitto was born in 1909 and can be seen in everything from Tod Browning's Freaks to Spooks Run Wild with Bela Lugosi and the Bowery Boys to H.R. Pufnstuf and Lidsville.
Where are they going to get that kind of casting rep?
