You of all people, Martin.
My mother is a USAir retiree, so we fly them when she gives us passes. All airlines suck.
So, nope.....
Sure, I remember it. We had the large one in the office and each of the salesmen and techies had a Pocket OAG. Used to spend half my flights checking for better connections.
Routine was:
Land at airport.
Find payphone in a quiet location. (United-Red Carpet Room, Eastern-Ionosphere Club, TWA-Ambassador Club, American-Admiral's Club, Delta-Crown Lounge).
Call office on AT&T credit card call.
Punch in a dozen or so numbers.
Punch in phone number.
Find out I needed to change itinerary and go to a different city to put out most urgent flare-up.
Pull out dog-eared copy of Pocket OAG.
Go to courtey desk.
Change flights.
Attendent puts little sticker with new flight info over flight on ticket/coupon to new destination.
Repeat 5-7 times per week.
Get home.
Kids greet Uncle Dad and receive "gifts" for being good for Mommy.
Explain/demonstrate to spousal unit that "red" on shirt is not lipstick but ink from back of flight coupons.
Give Mommy her present for raising kids, fixing plumbing, handling garbage, paying bills and greeting me.
Go out to dinner and dancing.
Make run to dry cleaners and exchange last week's attire for this week's attire.
Take family to church and Sunday dinner.
Repack two-bedroom suitcase for next week.
Wake up Monday at 6:00 for a 7AM flight.
