We just have this little bump in the road called the economy right now.Little bump in the sense that Jupiter is a little planet.

Winn Dixie has old stores in my area. Fridges frost up and ruin boxes. It is a quick drive to a Target, a Wal-Mart, and 3 different Publix stores, all with groceries. An Albertson’s in the area just closed. I don’t know how Winn Dixie survives the competition and economy.

Winn-Dixie, dat be a cracka store, I likes seeing crackas hurting. Deep thoughts by Shirley Sherrod.

You have to get better or get beaten by Publix. Winn-Dixie never focused much on getting better. You never see Publix closing stores. They are one well run organization.

...and I am sure the stores being closed are in the worst neighborhoods. Maybe the govt. will step in and force them to stay open and operate at a loss for the good of the COMMUNity.

Good. Winn Dixies are so nasty.....very dirty stores and pretty old too. Publix or Farm Fresh are the best stores to go too. Employees at Winn Dixie go to those two better grocery stores to get jobs.
To: Mase
Yep. Publix is my first choice. We have one down the road with a completely renovated Albertson’s across the street. The Publix is always packed. The Albertson’s is used like a giant convenience store.

The ones in Boca are probably going to be shut, they are old and tired, and seem to fall outside of the new distribution area.

We used to live in S. Fla. My boys worked at Publix. Great stores back then(80s), sounds like they still are.
Wish they’d move into NC.

Last year, Albertsons sold half of their stores in Florida to Publix. Albertsons got an expensive lesson in doing business here and competing with Publix. Sweetbay is next.

Want to bet Michelle steps in to stop the creation of more ‘food deserts’ ?
Or are these in white neighborhoods ?
To: Vinnie
They are still very nice. They actually demolished this Publix and replaced it with a completely new store about 5 years back just to keep up with new technology and refrigeration. They’ve got plenty of money and they’re NOT union. Very clean and the management thanks you every time you come in. I love it.
Write Publix headquarters in Lakeland, FL. They are always expanding. They may already have plans.
