Roger that Errant.

BTW, should I go to the sellers store and pick through his stock to find the best tube? Is there that much variability between individual units as stated by a poster above?

Last question, would you utilize this particolar unit on a 223 AR, or a M1A 308?

I could put it on either an FN/FAL, or the M1A. Which would cost the least to mount?

STD, buy from a reputable dealer that will allow maybe at least a 30 day return policy. The unit above has a limited lifetime warranty.

When you get it, look for any signs of a burn in that affects the image greatly. All of these scopes have a little. Never expose it to any direct or daylight without the cover in place.

Absolutely, you only need a weaver mount and the scope will handle the recoil of a 308. Your range is only limited by the amount of IR or visible light you can throw.

I'm not familiar of costs for adapting either of the above rifles to accept a weaver scope but it shouldn't be that expensive. A quick yahoo/google search for either rifle name combined with "weaver mount" should give you plenty of options.

One word of caution, eye relief is minimumal so heavy recoil could present a physical challenge to the shooter.
