Hi Joe,

Great tips all. I just bought a Trijicon CQB battle sight, which sits nicely upon my AR. Any practical thoughts about mounting NV on the AR platform? I want it for security. I won’t pretend it’s for 4 footed animals.
I really like some of the other suggestions in the FReepers comments below. Thanks guys!

I'd think about getting a dedicated weaver upper as mentioned above with a flash suppressor if that's legal in your locale.

Well, the aforementioned AN/PVS-14 can go on a cantilever mount in front of the ACOG, and this can also be quickly removed and mounted to a helmet or headstrap mount if you want to use it off the weapon. At least, I think it mounts in front, due to the ACOG's extremely short eye releif. I've only used it with an EOTech, and on that rifle the NVD went behind the sight; same for the Comp-M.

The PVS-18 also does this, I think. If you can find one for sale. $:-)

I don't know what other mfgrs. equivalents of these sights are, but there's all sort of gear out there nowadays. You definitely want to do your homework.
