[Oh, you mean, V, like how the Lds church handled ex-Sunday School teacher & ex-Lds bishop Kevin Garn re: this matter that came out below? You sound just like this story excerpted quote from an Lds official...stern stance..."zero tolerance for sexual abuse of any kind, especially instances involving minors" but you or your "Mormon friends" want to tell us when this key (now former) Lds legislator, who began 2010 as a top leader in his legislative body, was ex-communicated?]
Excerpt: But, Trotter said, Maher's 2008 letter was referred to local leaders, who handle disciplinary matters. "The Church will continue to follow this matter to determine if any further action is appropriate," Trotter said. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has zero tolerance for sexual abuse of any kind, especially instances involving minors," Trotter said. "It takes such allegations very seriously. When allegations of abuse surface, it is a tragedy for all involved. Maher said Garn was her LDS Sunday School teacher when she was in the fourth grade, several years before the hot tub incident.

So all because of your lack of knowledge of a specific instance (hmmm...there's a word for that), you're quick to label another a "liar" -- which is a form of judging intent?
I just proved you wrong. You need to apologize to R.
Apologize. That is a joke C. lds and their defenders can’t even admit Truth.
Further, I wasn't aware that Mormons or any other ecclastical body for that matter, issued press releases on who is and is not excommunicated. Yes, I vaguely recall reading about some pissant state legislator who was involved in some hot tub incident with a minor a decade or more before it surfaced.
The fact that it eventually did surface and shamed the guy out of office contrasts sharply to a certain legislator in Massachusetts who was running a gay porno ring out of his office and got re-elected.
Reread my post. I didn't call R a liar. I simply held it out as one possibility.
V, do you know ALL mormon Bishops? And you implied I was lying or ‘leaving out key details’. I did neither. HER bishop (not his) encouraged her to marry him, because this bishop was enough of an a-hole to think she had led him on.
Aberration? Perhaps, perhaps not. I have known bishops (and stake presidents) who have moved known rapists to other wards and encouraged the victims NOT to report it because the rapist was ‘mentally deficient’.
And as Colo pointed out, there is plenty of documentation on LDS leaders condoning or covering up sexual abuse.
And I don’t expect an apology from you, you never do.
