For those that are not conversant with mormon system, a home teacher is assigned by the local “priesthood” holders in the ward to go to various homes to “teach” to members.
They refer to works like “home teaching” as “callings”

As part of their responsibility to watch over the members of the Church, home teachers visit their assigned families at least once each month to teach and strengthen them.
