I wonder as a side effect all these people living under one roof will have on the housing industry?
“I wonder as a side effect all these people living under one roof will have on the housing industry?”
I think it is already having an effect.
In an extended family McMansion in a local bedroom community, we find:
-Uncle A, working full time but underemployed. BS degree.
-Aunt B, working full time. BS degree.
-Aunt C, laid off and disabled with little hope of returning to work. Working hard to start her own biz. No degree.
-Son, working one FT and one PT job, low wages. Some college.
-Daughter, working PT and going to college.
-Son, working FT, BS degree.
-Daughter, not working, going to college.
Should be about four households among them, yet they all live as one. They can’t afford to do anything else.
