There is only one type of shooting competition that only has a trophy for second place. The trophy is generally made of granite, has an epitaph inscribed on it, and when it is awarded to you, you are surrounded by everyone you love, crying their eyes out because you are dead. It's called a tombstone.

Well written article. Every “how to” pistol book I’ve ever read contains each of the points made by the author. Over 80% of gunfights occur within the 21’ distance mentioned, with the cast majority taking place in 10’ or fewer. Kentucky requirements for getting a concealed carry license include placing 11 of 20 shots withing a life sized human target at 21’. That’s easy enough to do, but then the target isn’t shooting back!
